Alabama Adventure will be hosting the ALETR

Alabama Adventure, Alabama's only theme park, will be host to the ALETR on June 12th and July 10th. Law enforcement officers will set up a display of police equipment inside the park and sell ALETR t-shirts. Alabama Adventure is located at Exit 110 on !-59/20. The Torch Run for the State Games was a tremendous success!

The 2010 Torch Run for the Special Olympics of Alabama State Games was held May 14th and 15th. The Torch Run started out in north Alabama on Thursday and then made it's way south, stopping in the Birmingham area overnight and then on to Montgomery and Troy.  The State Games Opening Ceremony convened on Friday evening in the Troy University football stadium. The event featured the the Flame of Hope being carried into the stadium by members of the agencies that participated in this year's Cops on Top fund-raising campaign. Over 50 uniformed officers and deputies formed a rank along the front of the stage as the Flame passed through. On Saturday morning, Torch Run officers were on hand at competition venues throughout the area. One of the highlights of the day was the Medal Tent at the Track and Field events that was staffed entirely by ALETR personnel. Thanks to everyone that participated.
