State Conference on August 28th
The Alabama Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics will be holding their annual State Conference on Thursday, August 28th. Registration will begin at 8:00 AM and the Conference will start at 9:00. Items for discussion include the election of a new State Director, plans for the 2009 Torch Run and exciting news for upcoming fundraising projects. The highlight of the Conference will be the induction of this year's class of the Hall of Fame. The inductees are Cecil Lancaster of the Tuscaloosa Police Department, Ed Taylor of the Decatur Police Department and Tom Little, also of the Decatur Police Department. Lunch will be provided by Jim and Nicks Barbeque.
The Conference will be held at the Wachovia Center, 210 Wildwood Parkway Building 2, Homewood, AL. This is just off the Lakeshore Parkway exit of I-65. You can register online or contact Lt. Ken Atkinson of the Homewood Police Department at 332-6204 for more information. See you at the Conference!
